Antiques Roadshow

St. Louis, Missouri, Hour Three - America's Center (#503)

Host Dan Elias leads an ANTIQUES ROADSHOW field trip to the new home of the St. Louis Mercantile Library. Founded in 1846, the Mercantile is the oldest public library west of the Mississippi and home to one of the region's finest collections of scholarly research materials. At America's Center, collectors arrive with an eclectic array of treasures, including a collection of ribbonwork clothing created by members of a Miami Indian tribe from northern Indiana, a turn-of-the-century medical chest containing tins for 288 different herbs, and a rare repeat rifle valued at $75,000 to $100,000.
