Antiques Roadshow

Las Vegas, Nevada, Hour Two (#521)

ANTIQUES ROADSHOW host Dan Elias welcomes viewers back to Las Vegas, Nevada, with a sojourn to what some have called "America's Pyramid"-the Hoover Dam. Viewers learn how construction of this gigantic concrete barrier began in 1931 to protect area settlements from flooding and how today the dam's generators supply electricity throughout the Southwest. Back at the Las Vegas Convention Center, ROADSHOW experts marvel at the treasures brought in for appraisal, including a pendulum clock made in Holland in the late 1600s, a collection of magicians' memorabilia from the 1920s and 1930s that includes a program signed by Houdini, and a distinctively engraved Revolutionary War powder horn valued at $25,000.
