Antiques Roadshow

Boston, Ma (Part 3) (#609)

While in Boston, ANTIQUES ROADSHOW host Dan Elias gives viewers a local history lesson with a visit to the Frederick Law Olmsted National Historical site. Best known for building New York's Central Park, Olmsted also created Boston's Emerald Necklace, a five-mile-long landscape project that links a series of parks, roadways, and ponds. Inside the Bayside Expo Center, collectors arrive with armloads of items for appraisal, including an antique French fashion doll with clothing and accessories; memorabilia from the Liliputian Opera Company, including a Tom Thumb tuxedo; and a delightful folk art cat carved from a single piece of wood in the mid-nineteenth century, now estimated to be worth $6,000 to $10,000.
