PBS Kids Bookworm Bunch

PBS' newest contribution to the enhancement of literacy, the PBS KIDS BOOKWORM BUNCH, is a three-hour block of seven different segments, each based on a popular children's book series. Each episode contains five 30-minute and two 15-minute segments and features an engaging variety of entertaining animation and live action, built around various curricula of knowledge, learning and values. Children's books in the reading series include CORDUROY, ELLIOT MOOSE, TIMOTHY, SEVEN LITTLE MONSTERS, GEORGE SHRINKS and MARVIN THE TAP DANCING HORSE.

  • Episode #101

    Some of the most popular of Childrens' books come to life on the screen in PBS's newest series for it's youngest viewers. Each segment provides children with a valuable lesson about life. This week, Lisa leaves Corduroy on the subway. Maybe this will teach her to take her responsibility for her best firend more seriously. "Corduroy" is one brave bear. "Elliot Moose" combines animation with live action and takes kids into the imaginary world of Elliot and his friends Socks, Lionel, Beaverton and others. This week's episode is all about friends helping eachother. "Timothy Goes to School" is about just that; a young raccoon going to school for the very first time. Everything is so new and exciting that Timothy can't help but love school and all of his new friends. Getting one child to go to sleep is hard enough. Now imagine "Seven Little Monsters." These young, lovable monsters (or "shnookums"), labeled 1 through 7 make life for their momma very interesting. Meet "George Shrinks." He may be small but he seems to manage just fine. With mom, the artist dad, the musician and Junior, George's bigger little brother there is more than enough love to make even the smallest of boys feel larger than life. It's daddio's birthday and George has no idea what to make for the man who has everything he could possibly need. Last but not least, meet "Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse" and the rest of his friends in the travelling carnival, Diamonds the elephant, Stripes the tiger, Elizabeth the pig and Marvin's human friend Eddy. Today, this travelling family must bring back one of its own when Diamonds loses her memory and joins that terrible Slime Carnival. [178 minutes]

    Corduroy "Music Lessons"--When Lisa won't listen to any music besides her favorite, hip-hop, her friends introduce her to different music styles by exploring their very own neighborhood: Indian, waltz, and even men playing silver spoons. Corduroy and Rosetta soon have Lisa dancing to the different rhythms of the street. Elliot Moose "A Lion in Summer"--Animation -- King Lionel retires fromhis duties asa king -- he just wants to relax. But living under the rule of the newly crowned Queen Socks makes him realize there are benefits, along with duties, to being a King. "A Tail or Two"--Live Action -- No one likes to hear friends argue -- especially about their tails! Elliot and Lionel decide to teach Socks and Beaverton the importance of getting along. "The Flower-Spotted Dragon"--Animation -- A chameleon-like dragon makes things very difficult for photographer Elliot Moose when he tries to take a picture of it. "Elliot's Masterpiece"--Live Action -- It's Playroom Art Gallery Day and it's a race to the finish_ or is it? Elliot learns that being different isn't a bad thing and friends accept you for who you are. ~ ~The GiantPongolongo--Animation -- On an escapade to catch a photo of The Giant Pongolongo monster, Socks goes missing. Elliot Moose Jungle Photographer and Professor Paisley fear the worst. When they confront what they believe to be the monster, they soon realize it was Socks all along! Timothy "The Great Obstacle Race"--The children enjoy a day of games and races at the school picnic. No one cares if they win or lose. No one that is, except Claude and Grace. They want to win every time. Except for the last Obstacle Race, where everyone's a winner. Everyone that is, except Claude and Grace. They just don't get it. " Shy Charles"--It becomes clear that Charles enjoys spending time alone. He develops a reputation for being shy and nobody wants to play with him. He proves his classmates wrong however, when Timothy gets locked in the janitorial closet, and it is Charles who sounds the alarm and informs the teachers of the emergency, thereby saving the day. Seven Little Monsters "Good Night!"--It is bedtime and the monsters will not listen to their Mom and go to sleep. Pillow fights, conga lines and even a mosquito hunt are among their antics. But, when Mom reads them a fairy tale (featuring monsters in classics roles) they tumble off to sleep. George Shrinks "Can We Keep Him?"--George becomes fast friends with a Mouse he met in Dad's garage and he ignores JR. Jealous of George's new friendship, JR runs away from home. George, with help from his new mouse friend, looks for and eventually finds JR. In the end George realizes the value of old friendships as well as new ones. Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse "Stripes' Sticky Situation"--Stripes tries to win a "fabulous" prize by completing a puzzle using gum wrappers. When his quest is revealed, all the carnival friends want to help. After chewing lots and lots of gum to get the right pieces to the puzzle, the group receives their "fabulous" prize: a lifetime supply of gum! "Marvin's High Dive"--Jack tries to spice up the carnival by bringing back the high-diving horse and Marvin doesn't want to disappoint him. But, despite practicing with his friends, Marvin isn' t able to do the trick and Jack does the dive, inadvertently becoming an overnight sensation. Corduroy "Going Up"--The apartment building elevator is out of order. For an energetic kid like Lisa, this doesn't pose much of a problem. For some other tenants, such as the elderly, new mothers and Moppy's Dad, who twisted his ankle, the stairs are a problem. Lisa and Corduroy provide a helping hand and sturdy legs to those in need of assistance. [178 minutes]

    Corduroy "Ice Dream"--Lisa and Corduroy are craving ice cream, but unfortunately Lisa has already spent her allowance for the week. Mom suggests that in order to buy the treats Lisa take the initiative and earn some money. Lisa comes up with a great idea. Given that the first snow of the year has fallen, she'll clear her neighbors' sidewalks of snow! Elliot Moose "A Crazy Mixed Up Lion"--Animation -- King Lionel declares today "Not a Lion Day." After trying his hand at being a monkey, giraffe and snake -- he realizes he's best at being what he is -- a lion. "Lionel and the Roaring Hiccups"--Live Action -- No one likes the hiccups, especially when they're roaring ones! Lionel finds the best way to cure hiccups is to have some good friends around. "Sockserella"--Animation -- It's a classic Cinderella tale when Sockserella meets up with her fairy Godfather Beaverton and heads to the Prince's Ball to charm the handsome Prince Elliot. "The Cap Club"--Live Action -- If the hat fits, wear it. But what if the hat doesn't fit? Elliot wants to be part of the Cap Club, but he has two small problems, on his head -- his horns! Elliot learns that while clubs can be fun, being "you" is what counts. "Hot Ice"--Animation -- Captain Elliot Moosebeard and crew brave icy waters to find the Dragon Treasure. They reach their destination only to find a lonely Drusilla Dragon who is just looking to make friends. Timothy "On the Fritz"--All of Fritz's messes conveniently get blamed on the Mess Fairy. This arrangement works out great for Fritz until he accidentally splatters paint on Timothy's treasured collection of shells. Fritz feels bad and decides it's time that he begins to own up to all the messes he has caused and pledges do his very best to clean them up. "Small Change"--Nora doesn't like change. Today, everything is changing, her favorite shirt, her favorite breakfast, even Dad is repainting her room. Thankfully at Hilltop, nothing changes. However, when a surprise game of musical tables forces Nora to change her seat and sit next to Lilly, she learns new and interesting things and begins to embrace change. Seven Little Monsters "The Mystery of the Missing Five"--Irascible Four always has to look after his twin brother, Five. But, when Five' s behavior includes eating Four's favorite toothpaste and polishing his ankles with Four's favorite toothbrush, Four does the unthinkable and blurts out that he wishes Five had never been born. When Five disappears, the monsters think that he has gone to the hospital to " give himself back!" The hunt is on, and Four learns that a pesky Five is better than no Five at all. George Shrinks "Close Encounters of the Bird Kind"--After watching an episode of their favorite cartoon, Dash Smasher and the Space Pioneers, George and Junior set out to become like the heroes on TV by doing good deeds. When George hears Becky, the new girl next door, is trying to save a baby bird, together they use ingenuity and teamwork to save the bird -- and become fast friends in the process. ~~Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse "Stripes Takes Off"--Jack loses his temper with Stripes causing Stripes to run away from the carnival. Missing their friend, Marvin and Eddy look for and find Stripes, and remind him how much he's loved. Jack realizes that losing one's temper can cause hurt feelings. "Eddy's Wrong Order"--A delivery comes for Jack, and Eddy signs for it Unfortunately, it's the wrong order. Afraid of costing Jack money, Eddy and friends come up with a scheme to make up for the mistake. Corduroy "Soap Flakes"--In separate incidents involving Lisa's missing scissors and a messy linen closet, Moppy and Corduroy learn that telling lies usually brings a whole new mess of problems.     Corduroy "Help Wanted"--Mom gets sick and Lisa offers to make lunch. In the excitement of being a chef, Lisa substitutes Mom's requested peanut butter and jelly sandwich for an improvised pasta salad, featuring a dressing made out of prune juice! Elliot Moose "Fistful of Crayons"--Animation -- Sheriff Elliot and Annie Socksley realize after a drawing duel there's room enough for two artists in the town of Rainbow Gulch. "Ride Share"--Live Action -- What do you get when you mix a car, a boat, a train and a plane? A really big traffic jam -- that is, until Elliot and the other toys learn to play together. "The Socksness Monster"--Animation -- Professor McPaisley will have tofire Elliot if he doesn't get a picture of the Loch Ness Monster soon. But, with the help of his good friends Socks and Beaverton - he gets the picture of the monster. "Another Way to Play"--Live Action -- Playing games is a lot of fun, but sometimes the rules are too hard! In this episode, Elliot, Socks, and Paisley make up some rules of their own. "Scaredy Cat"--Animation -- When Amy asks Lionel to join the circus inthe city, Lionel agrees. He always likes to help, but there's just one problem -- he doesn't want to go. With the help of his friends and Elliot's mapleberries, he avoids the circus and the noisy city. ~~Timothy "Don't Lose it Lilly"--Lilly loses everything -- her pencil, her lunchbox, her scarf. Luckily, her friends at Hilltop rally around her and help her discover new ways of remembering things. "Frankless Frank"--The Franks do everything together. When Frank One gets sick, Frank Two has to cope with his absence at school. At first Frank Two is uncomfortable without his brother, but as he gradually learns to do things without him, he realizes he can have fun on his own as well. Seven Little Monsters "Seven Monsters and a Baby"--Mom takes a nap, and a neighbor asks Seven to babysit. The monsters quickly find out that babysitting is harder than it looks. The baby turns the house and the monsters upside down. After a few close calls (and even a curtain call for an impromptu pirate play), the monsters manage the baby without ever waking up Mom. George Shrinks "Ants in the Pantry"--Ants and bees invade Mom's surprise picnic. George attempts to ward off the insects himself. They keep coming back! Finally, with JR's help, the bugs abandon the picnic and George realizes that sometimes you need help from others to accomplish your goals. Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse "Gone Fishing"--When the carnival friendsare impatient and overworked Jack gives them a day off to go fishing. They are expecting a great, relaxing day of fun and merriment. But, no sooner do they get to the fishing hole when they start bickering and fighting. After a bear eats their lunch, they realize how important their friendship is and apologize to each other. "Elizabeth's Biggest Fan"--To make Elizabeth feel good, Marvin and Eddy concoct a fan letter using a random name from the phone book. Elizabeth heads to town to meet her "fan" in person and finds instead a perplexed man. She learns the truth about the letter's origin AND how much her friends must love her to go through the effort. Corduroy "Clean Up"--The local park becomes so full of trash and discarded pop cans that the poor ducks can't swim around. Lisa and Corduroy, along with their friends and neighbors, pitch in to help tidy up the park. Lisa discovers that organization is the key to a successful clean up. [178 minutes]

    Corduroy "Special Delivery"--Knowing that Corduroy misses her when she's at school, Lisa leaves a surprise for Corduroy: a "thinking of you" card. In return, Corduroy wants to surprise Lisa by leaving his own card in the lobby mailbox. He and his friends quickly discover that sneaking down five floors to the lobby presents unexpected challenges! Elliot Moose "Beaverton Caruso"--Animation -- Shipwrecked on a desert -- there are too many fun things to play with! But when the night gets cold and they are hungry, Elliot and Socks learn that it's better to work first and play later. "Bear Care"--Live Action -- Elliot, Socks and Paisley take a trip to the North Pole. Not only do they see a walrus and a caribou; with a little help from Lionel they see a polar bear, too! "201 -- A Space Oddity"--Animation -- Mong the Mousenificent has stolen the green cheese! Captain Elliot Mooseter and Rocket Socks catch the deviously clever thief red handed -- only to have him escape again. "Tuneless"--Live Action -- Elliot can't make a single note on his trumpet, and not even Paisley and his encyclopedia can help. Maybe the problem isn't music related but monkey related! "Dragonhorse"--Animation -- Lord Paisley and Lady Amy are trapped in the tall tower. They are saved, thanks to their friends Sir Elliot, Squire Socks and even Drusilla Dragon. Timothy "The Sleepover"--Timothy is worried the Franks will think he is a baby if they find out he sleeps with a stuffed animal named Pingy. During a sleepover, Timothy does everything he can to hide Pingy, but is immensely relieved to find out that the Franks sleep with a stuffed animal as well. "Team Project"--Timothy chooses Claude over Yoko in a team project because he thinks Claude will help him win a special prize. Claude doesn't let Timothy do any of the work and in the end, even though they win the prize, Timothy realizes he would have had much more fun partnered with Yoko. Seven Little Monsters "Are You My Family?"--One and Six have different ideas of how to stage their Mother's Day party. Tempers flare and One suggests that if Six can't go along with her plan, maybe she'd be happier with another family. Six goes off in search of a "new" family, winding up as the star attraction at the circus. But, when One realizes that without Six they are not complete, the monsters persuade Six to come home. George Shrinks "Round Up the Usual Insects"--While working on their Science Fair Project, "Insects," George and Becky go on a "full scale insect safari." They become so involved with their collection that they forget their promise to watch Junior, and he lets all of the insects out! Now, it's up to Becky and George to capture all the bugs before Mom's party for the Art Council is ruined. Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse "Eddy's Video"--Jack asks Eddy to make a television commercial for the carnival and expects footage of rides, food and entertainment. But, when the carnival animals become big hams and struggle for the limelight, Jack has to make his own ad " Jack Style." "The Visit"--A famous astronaut is scheduled to visit the carnival leading Marvin and Diamonds to become engaged in a struggle of one-upmanship for the most entertaining act so they can meet him face-to-face. While the two are jockeying for position, Elizabeth is the only one who wins the day. Corduroy "Flight of Fancy"--On a beautiful, breezy day, Moppy and Lisa go kite flying and revel in watching their kites soar. But, when their competitive spirits rise and they become careless, both of their kites end up stuck in a tree. Working together, the pair put aside their rivalry and, using a kite constructed out of makeshift parts, give Corduroy a ride to retrieve the broken kites. [178 minutes]

    Corduroy "Sleep Tight"--When Moppy visits Lisa for his first ever sleep over, he discovers that even when you think you're ready to try something new, sometimes you're not. Elliot Moose "Star Players"--Animation -- During a friendly game of spaceball, Captain Elliot Mooseter and Rocket Socks are accidentally sucked up into Space Cleaner Beaverton's giant vacuum cleaner. Luckily for them a wishing star whizzes past and their friend Beaverton wishes them back to Planet Friendly. "Dream Along With Me!"--Live Action -- Socks is having a bad dream andshe doesn't want to go to sleep. Elliot, Lionel and Beaverton share their funny dreams with her, and she is reminded that neither dreams, nor a world with no bananas, are real. "The Case of the Haunted Windmill"--Animation -- Elliot Moose Country Detective and Dr. Sockson discover the ghost in the "haunted windmill" is really Professor Mousiarty -- protecting his new hideout. "Batter Up!"--Live Action -- Elliot learns baseball is more than home runs -- it's a lot of practicing and help from his friends! "Cape of Courage"--Animation -- Through the adventures to find his lost Cape of Courage, Sir Elliot and Squire Socks help King Lionel realize he is brave without it. Timothy "The Music Tree"--Yoko plays her violin beautifully at home, but when the class builds a music tree for a school concert and Mrs. Jenkins suggests Yoko play her violin there, she develops stage fright. Thankfully, with the encouragement of her mother and her classmates, Yoko overcomes her fear and leads the class through a beautiful spring symphony. "Paint by Numbers"--Doris gets embarrassed when she paints a somewhat abstract picture in class and it doesn't look like anyone else's. Luckily she feels better when Mrs. Jenkins takes the children to a museum. Doris sees other abstract paintings that look similar to hers. Seven Little Monsters "Please Mr. Postman"--For Two, there is nothing worse than waiting for a special package. He waits and waits and waits while the other monsters are having fun. Trying to be helpful, Seven searches for the package only to lose his head at the post office. The head travels the globe, but gets back home just in time to personally deliver Two's package. George Shrinks "From Bad to Worse"--Mom and Dad go out and leave George and Junior with Aunt Eunice, the only person who treats George like he is three inches tall and can't do things that a regular sized 10-year-old boy can do. But, when Aunt Eunice's prize bonsai tree accidentally gets broken and only George can fix it, she apologizes for pre-judging him and their relationship is strengthened. Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse "Eddy's Video"--Jack asks Eddy to make a television commercial for the carnival and expects footage of rides, food and entertainment. But, when the carnival animals become big hams and struggle for the limelight, Jack has to make his own ad " Jack Style." "Stripes' Dental Fuss"--Stripes has a toothache but is afraid to go to the dentist so Eddy secretly plans a house call from the doctor. Eddy soon learns that the dentist is also afraid of Stripes. Through some planning, the carnival friends get the dentist and Stripes in the same room, and together they realize there's nothing to fear from someone new. Corduroy "Ship's Ahoy"--Moppy promises Lisa he'll take care of Corduroy when they go for a simple picnic in the park. Corduroy ends up sailing solo on Moppy's toy boat and becomes lost. The outing ends up being anything but simple! [178 minutes]

    Corduroy "1 + 1 = 2"--After learning about dinosaurs, Lisa decides to build her own out of pipe cleaners. After hearing her plans, Corduroy decides he's going to make a dinosaur, too. His will be made of felt. After several attempts at working alone, they collaborate, making the perfect Stegosaurus out of both pipe cleaners and felt. Elliot Moose " Paisley the Great"-- Animation -- Paisley overcomes his stage fright when he saves his friends from a ferocious lion. "Collector Elliot"--Live Action -- Elliot and Socks go on a treasure hunt in the backyard. His friends help him find great treasures. But after puzzling over the number of thimbles he finds, he soon discovers there's a hole in the bag. "Queen of the Waves"--Animation -- Captain Elliot Moosebeard and FirstMate Socks rescue Amy Queen of the Waves from the evil Sea Dragon. "The Mountain"--Live Action -- Mountain climbing can be a lot of fun, especially in your own home! Elliot, Socks and Paisley work together to brave steep cliffs and mountain lions, while learning what friendship is all about. "Playground Puzzle"--Animation -- When a bunny is missing from Lionel' s playground, Elliot Moose Country Detective and Dr. Sockson are called in to solve the case. They soon realize it was Mr. McBeaverton who took the bunny to paint it for his good friend Lionel. Timothy "Talent Show"--Grace wants to be the star of the Hilltop Talent Show. She is devastated when she hurts her ankle before the big event. Fortunately, it turns out to be an excellent opportunity for her to discover that she can still make a valuable contribution as a director and make the show run smoothly. "Cherry Blossom"--Yoko chooses to plant a cherry blossom tree for her spring project but becomes discouraged when her classmates finish their projects before her tree has even begun to grow. Just as she is about to give up, Timothy reminds her how hard she has worked and convinces her to give it another chance. Seven Little Monsters "Doctor, Doctor!"--With the help of "doctor" Three, the monsters try to cure Two's cold so they can all go to the movies. After many hilarious remedies lead nowhere, they discover that Mom's advice of getting plenty of rest is the best cure of all. George Shrinks "Sunken Treasures"--Description TBD. Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse "Marvin's Roommate"--Stripes' cage crashes and needs extensive repairs. Marvin invites Stripes to live with him. When the two friends don't openly discuss their frustration about living together, nerves become frayed. With a little help from Eddy, the friends patch up their differences and learn to be open and forthcoming about how they're feeling. "When Pigs Fly"--Elizabeth doesn't like to try anything new. She has no choice when Jack's new hot air balloon gets loose -- with her inside. Eddy and Marvin set out to rescue her. They are surprised to find that Elizabeth is deliriously happy and they all learn the value of trying new things. Corduroy "Cute as a Button"--Lisa loses a race to Moppy and wonders ifhis smart-looking sneakers are the reason why. After all, her sneakers are plain and boring. Meanwhile, Corduroy has lost a button and worries that Lisa won't love him as much if he doesn't look his best. Both Lisa and Corduroy discover that appearance isn't everything, and it's what's inside that counts. [178 minutes]

    Corduroy "Tooth Ache"--Lisa doesn't tell Mom about her toothache for fear a visit to the dentist's office will mean a big needle. Corduroy comes to Lisa about his hurt elbow, and Lisa realizes the importance of asking for help. Elliot Moose "Emperor Elliot's New Robe"--Animation -- When Emperor Elliot doesn't have a royal robe for his birthday -- his faithful friends make him the best robe of all, the Friendship Robe. "The Tooter Scooter"--Live Action -- You can't have a scooter without a good tooter, but what happens when everyone wants to be the tooter? Beaverton helps his friends learn what sharing is all about. "The Case of the Invisible Elephant"--Animation --Carrots from a carrot patch are stolen by a thief with elephant footprints. Detective Elliot soon discovers that the thief is not an invisible elephant but the villain Professor Mousiarty. "Star Trick"--Animation -- Captain Elliot Moosebeard and Rocket Socks save the doomed Planet Friendly from a giant meteor. "Quest Request"--Live Action -- Lionel is ready to be a king, but he's a little short on royal pride. So his good friends Elliot, Socks and Beaverton are going to help him find it, they just need some royal clothes first. Timothy "Lifesaver Lilly"--Lilly's reputation for forgetfulness prevents her from being chosen to look after the class fish. She proves everyone wrong; however, when in the end she saves the fish's life. "Scary Monsters"--Nora's fear of big and scary prehistoric creatures is heightened when the class makes preparations to go to a dinosaur museum. Luckily, Timothy recognizes Nora's apprehension, and figures out a way to make the museum trip more fun and show her dinosaurs aren't such scary monsters after all. Seven Little Monsters "Along Came Mary"--A groovy girl moves in next door and everyone wants to be her best friend. Each monster tries to outdo the other to win her friendship. In the end, they learn from Mary that they all can be best friends. George Shrinks "Snowman's Land"--Description TBD. Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse "The Big Show"--The gang decides to do an extra show on their day off to raise money for a snow cone machine. Unfortunately, Lyman gets Marvin, Stripes, Diamonds and Elizabeth sick. But, Eddy saves the day! "Visit to Grandma"--Eddy takes his carnival friends to visit Grandma and they try hard to make a good impression. Unfortunately, things go wrong, causing havoc in Grandma's home. The friends are afraid of Grandma's reaction. Much to everyone's delight, Grandma doesn't mind the pandemonium and soon everyone is chatting away and having a great time. Corduroy "Mop Top"--Due to their fear of change, Moppy delays a dreaded visit to the barber's for a much needed haircut, and Corduroy is afraid to give up his treasured old blanket. Lisa finds a way to reassure both her friends that change isn't always easy to accept but it can be good. [178 minutes]

    Corduroy "Art Smart"--Lisa, Corduroy and Rosetta visit Lisa's mom's gallery and create unique art. Rosetta becomes jealous of Corduroy's creation. The consequences of jealousy become apparent when Rosetta accidentally damages Corduroy's sculpture and ends up destroying her very own painting, as well. Elliot Moose "The Lost Treasure"--Animation -- Elliot, Socks, Beaverton and Amy travel to Landahoy Island to dig for treasure, only to discover that good friends are the best treasure of all. "The Wading Pool"--Live Action --Sometimes the hardest part about swimming is the getting wet. Elliot and his friends have so much fun helping each other get ready for swimming that they forget one special thing for their pool. The water! "The Case of the Popcorn Pirate"--Animation --Detective Elliot and Dr. Sockson uncover Professor Mousiarty's underground popcorn popping operation -- in which he's used Farmer Beaverton's missing corn. Timothy "The Big Snowfall"--When Doris wanders off to take part in a toboggan race, Lilly is left to venture through the snow by herself. While wandering, she meets all of her other classmates who show her fun and exciting things to do in the winter wonderland. "Putting It All Together"--It's puzzle day at Hilltop School, and there's a special surprise if the kids put together a puzzle before lunchtime. At first the kids try to work individually, but, with time running out Timothy suggests they all work together and soon they discover the puzzle is a picture of a big picnic lunch -- just like the one Mrs. Jenkins has laid out. Seven Little Monsters "The Puppy"--The monsters bring home a puppy for a new pet and completely forget about Belinda the cow. When the puppy chews them out of house and home, the monsters have to learn to love and train the canine terror and win back Belinda's affections. George Shrinks "Space Invader"--Description TBD. Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse "Marvin's Surprise"--When he overhears talk of cake and gifts and surprises, Marvin assumes his friends are throwing him a surprise party for his anniversary. However, when no party happens, a disappointed Marvin realizes he shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. Fortunately, Eddy is aware of his friends' disappointment and throws him a wonderful last minute party. "Eddy Learns to Dance"--Marvin offers to teach Eddy how to dance and he quickly learns his friend has two left feet. When Eddy wants to quit and becomes discouraged, Marvin keeps Eddy's spirits high by sharing his own troubles with dancing. Corduroy "A Hot Day in the City"--On a sweltering day in the city when they can't get to the beach, Lisa decides to bring the beach to Corduroy! "The Cap Club" --Live Action -- If the hat fits, wear it. But what if the hat doesn' t fit? Elliot wants to be part of the Cap Club, but he has two small problems on his head -- his horns! Elliot learns that while clubs can be fun, being oneself is what counts. Elliot Moose detective soon discovers that Miss Amy's students needed the chalk to write her a special goodbye message. The other monsters try to teach him to be a better player, but in the end, it is Seven who teaches them all to work as a team. GEORGE SHRINKS "Down the Drain"--It's Mom and Dad's anniversary and Dad has bought Mom a special gift -- a diamond ring. While Mom is out, George insists on helping to hide the gift. When trying to hide the ring in the bathroom medicine cabinet, the ring accidentally falls down the drain. So being the size he is, George goes down after it. It's a race to find the ring and get home before Mom does. And being the smart adventuring guy he is, George does just that and in the process finds lots of other treasure too. MARVIN THE TAP-DANCING HORSE " Marvin's Breakfast Jam"--Marvin is asked to do a television commercial for a new breakfast cereal and the whole carnival is swept up in his enthusiasm. Marvin realizes to his chagrin that the cereal tastes terrible and he faces a dilemma: keep everyone happy or lie to thousands of viewers. "The Iron Claw"--Stripes disparages a new coin operated machine, the iron claw, as " junk." But, when he sees a prize in the machine that reminds him of home, he is afraid to ask for it after complaining about the machine so profusely. Luckily, right before it's too late, he shares his feelings about the prize and Eddy and Marvin get it for him. CORDUROY "Say Cheese"--Mrs. Cho gives Lisa a disposable instant camera. Lisa sneaks up on her friends in the apartment building and takes embarrassing snapshots of them. When the tables are turned and Corduroy starts snooping around in her cedar chest, Lisa realizes she hasn't been respecting other people's privacy. [178 minutes]

"Bear Care"--Live Action -- Elliot, Socks and Paisley take a trip to the North Pole. Not only do they see a walrus and a caribou, they see a polar bear too! That is, with a little help from Lionel. "2001 -- A Space Oddity"--Animation -- Mong the Mousenificent has stolen the green cheese! Captain Elliot Mooseter and Rocket Socks catch the deviously clever thief red handed -- only to have him escape again. " Tuneless"--Live Action -- Elliot can't make a single note on his trumpet and not even Paisley and his encyclopedia can help. Maybe the problem isn't music related but monkey related! "Dragonhorse"--Animation -- Lord Paisley and Lady Amy are trapped in the tall tower. They are saved, thanks to their friends Sir Elliot, Squire Socks and even Drusilla Dragon. TIMOTHY GOES TO SCHOOL "Taking the Plunge"--Timothy finds it odd that Claude continues to make excuses for not taking the plunge during Swim Day at Hilltop School. However, it all becomes clear when Claude admits to Timothy that he is not very good at the sport, so Timothy takes it upon himself to teach Claude how to swim. "Timothy's Way"--Timothy becomes anxious when he can't come up with a subject to teach everyone for a class exercise. The pressure mounts when all the other kids seem to be able to choose something with ease. Fortunately, while playing marbles with the other kids at recess, Timothy realizes that this is the very thing he can teach to the others. SEVEN LITTLE MONSTERS "Spooky!"--The power goes out in their house during a storm and the monsters find themselves scared out of their wits. Four makes matters worse by trying to spook the others, only to find out he is the biggest fraidy cat of all. Pulling together, they learn to be brave and that they should not be afraid of sharing their feelings. GEORGE SHRINKS "A Day at the Beach"--It's a day of fun at the beach for George and Junior as they keep out of Mom and Dad's hair by building a sand castle. While building, they come across some sea turtle eggs about the hatch. The whole family bands together to save the sea turtles from the nasty sea gulls. MARVIN THE TAP-DANCING HORSE "Eddy and the Cowboy"--There's a new cowboy -- a singin' cowboy -- in town, and Jack has hired him for the carnival. Eddy is so impressed by Frisco Frank and his horse Ricochet that Marvin starts to get jealous. Marvin becomes convinced that Eddy wants to leave the carnival to become a cowboy, too. In the end however, Frisco Frank rides off alone into the sunset and Eddy assures Marvin that he'd never leave the carnival -- and his best friend. "Elizabeth and the Haunted House"--Elizabeth is so terrified of the haunted house that she refuses to go anywhere near it. But, when she begins to have terrible nightmares, everyone knows that something must be done. They convince Elizabeth that the only way for her to conquer her fears is to face them, rubber spiders and all! After making it through the haunted house with Eddy, Elizabeth realizes that it is nothing but a just-for-fun haunted house and goes back in for more! CORDUROY "Once, Twice, Ice"--During her first attempt at ice-skating at the city's public rink, Lisa can hardly wait to try out the swirls and twirls she has seen seasoned skaters perform. But Lisa's debut on the ice is less than graceful and she gives up before she's ever really started. However, while teaching Corduroy how to do a somersault, Lisa quickly learns the importance of perseverance and decides to try skating again. [178 minutes]

    "Super Duper Market"--A visit to the super market has Lisa and Corduroy very excited. They play with the automatic sliding doors, juggle jars of food and start a shopping cart traffic jam. In fact, they are having so much fun they aren't paying attention to what's around them and Mom points out, it's better to be safe than sorry. ELLIOT MOOSE "Elliot Mapleberry"--Animation -- After a lot of hard work planting mapleberry seeds everywhere he can think of, Elliot Mapleberry is shocked to find no mapleberry bushes have grown. His friends then teach Elliot that he must plant seeds in the ground in order for them to grow. "The Cat Nap"--Live Action -- Elliot and Socks try to play quietly, but keep waking Lionel up! They soon learn the importance of kindness and consideration towards their sleepy friend. "The Sea Dragon"--Animation -- On their way to hunt for treasure, Captain Elliot Moosebeard and the crew of the Playaround come across what they believe to be a sea dragon and run for cover. Soon after, Captain Elliot discovers that it wasn't a sea dragon after all but just plain driftwood. "Boo!"--Live Action -- Elliot? Scared? Not even a scary story can scare three friends like Socks, Paisley and Elliot, even when the three mistake each other for ghosts. "The Magic Pond"--Animation -- After drinking from The Magic Pond, Sir Elliot falls under a spell that can only be broken by a dragon's teardrop. TIMOTHY GOES TO SCHOOL "The Tree Fort and the Sand Castle"--The kids decide to separate themselves into a boys-only Tree Fort Club and a girls-only Sand Castle Club. After the novelty wears off, Timothy and Doris break the boredom by playing soccer together again. The other kids realize that it is just as much fun for boys and girls to play together as it is for them to play apart. "Get Well Soon"--Everyone loves Mrs. Jenkins, so when she hurts her arm and is forced to miss school, they decide to make her a get-well card. That is, everyone except for Fritz. He decides to collect worms, bugs and leftovers for his teacher instead, much to his classmates' surprise. In the end, it becomes clear that the scraps he has amassed are for a bird feeder he has made for Mrs. Jenkins so she can watch the birds while she rests. SEVEN LITTLE MONSTERS "The Plooky!"--When Four decides to be a movie director, he orders the rest of the monsters to make a video with him. But, after trying unsuccessfully to bully them into doing action, he learns that simply being nice gets more results. GEORGE SHRINKS "King Kongo"--George and Becky are making a monster movie, but things aren't going very smoothly. Meanwhile, Mom and Dad are hosting an important fundraiser. But just as George and Becky are about to give up, they find a new star -- a monkey in their backyard that has escaped from the circus. King Kongo ends up going home to the circus and Mom and Dad raise a lot of money for a good cause. MARVIN THE TAP-DANCING HORSE "Eddy's Charm"--When Jack's young niece Lucy comes to visit, Eddy wants to get to know her, but can't seem to overcome his shyness. Eddy's self-confidence gets a boost when Edna gives him a special charm designed to help him impress Lucy. After losing the charm, Eddy learns it wasn't through magic that he gained Lucy's attention, but by something he had all along: his own inner charm. "Marvin Horses Around"--While running an errand in town, Eddy accidentally breaks a coin-operated ride. Since Eddy and Marvin are too afraid to ask Jack for help, Marvin finds himself giving horseback rides to raise money to pay for the damage. Upon returning late to the carnival, Marvin and Eddy find that they have some explaining to do; in the end, they learn that they shouldn't be afraid to ask for help when they need it. CORDUROY "Party Plans"--With help from Buckaroo and Rosetta's, Lisa plans a surprise party for Corduroy to celebrate the day she brought him home from the department store! Unaware of the party planning and mistakenly thinking his friends don't want to play with him anymore, Corduroy feels unwanted and abandoned. [178 minutes]

    CORDUROY "Between the Covers"--Reading and hearing stories read aloud brings great joy to Corduroy and Lisa. But, when Lisa gets her very own library card and misplaces a book, they learn that with the privilege of borrowing books comes responsibility. ELLIOT MOOSE " Ascent of Moose Mountain"--Animation -- The race is on to see who will get to the top of Moose Mountain. After many failed attempts, everyone soon realizes the fastest way to reach the top is to work together. "The Tooter Scooter"--Live Action -- Having a good scooter means having a good tooter, but what happens when everyone wants to be the tooter? Beaverton helps his friends learn what sharing is all about. "The Case of the Invisible Elephant"--Animation -- Carrots from a carrot patch are stolen by a thief with elephant footprints. Detective Elliot soon discovers that the thief is not an invisible elephant but the villain Professor Mousiarty. "Quest Request"--Live Action --Lionel is ready to be a king, but he's a little short on royal pride. His good friends Elliot, Socks and Beaverton help him find it. "Star Trick"--Animation -- Captain Elliot Moosebeard and Rocket Socks save the doomed Planet Friendly from a giant meteor. TIMOTHY GOES TO SCHOOL "In the Spotlight"--Charles is too shy for his "In the Spotlight" presentation about leaves, so he tries to put it off. Timothy attempts to help him overcome his fear of talking in front of people, but Charles has a better idea -- he'll get Timothy to talk for him. However, during the actual presentation, Charles gets so caught up correcting Timothy's translation that he forgets about his shyness and does the presentation on his own. "Fritz on the Move"--Timothy feels his friendship with Fritz is going to be jeopardized after Fritz announces he is moving away. At first, Timothy is devastated by the news, but gradually learns how to say goodbye. In the end, both boys realize that a long distance relationship can be equally as enriching. SEVEN LITTLE MONSTERS " Lost and Found"--Five finds a wallet full of cash in the park and all the monsters make plans to spend the money that isn't rightfully theirs. When they agree to wait a week for the real owner to come forward, sparks fly between the monsters. They learn the hard way that honesty is the best policy. GEORGE SHRINKS "Space Invaders"--When George and Becky have a sci-fi moviethon sleepover, too much pizza and candy leads to weird dreams for George. Aliens from another planet visit the Shrinks house and it's up to George to protect everyone. But, when he tries to warn Mom and Dad, they don't see what George sees and chalk it up to too much junk food. The question remains, did aliens visit or didn't they? MARVIN THE TAP-DANCING HORSE "Mr. P. Nutty"--The carnival has a mysterious new food vendor, Mr. P. Nutty. He never says a word and never takes off his peanut costume. When things start disappearing, the gossip begins and Stripes, Diamonds and Elizabeth believe all sorts of crazy theories about Mr. Nutty. In the end, the thieves turn out to be some pesky squirrels, and the gang must apologize to Mr. Nutty for their suspicions. "Eddy's Fortune"--As his friends puppy-sit a lost puppy, Eddy fills in as a fortune-teller and promises a little girl that her biggest wish will come true. Marvin and Eddy must then run about trying to give the girl everything she could possibly wish for. It finally turns out that all she wanted was her lost puppy -- the very puppy they found! CORDUROY "Finders Keepers"--Lisa finds a lost puppy and decides to keep him. But, when she remembers how it felt to lose Corduroy on the subway, she realizes the old adage, finders keepers, does not always hold true and decides to seek the puppy's rightful owner.
