Segment 1: Diving Three time champion Maggie James of Ames goes for something not done since 1982, win four straight diving titles. But Jacintha Thomas of Iowa City West. Thomas sets a state record with 561.10 points in the diving competition as a senior. WATCH NOW!

Segment 2: Standout individuals Three girls win at least two golds at the IGHSAU State Swimming Championships. Allyssa Fluit of Southeast Polk, a junior, swam to a state record in the 200 and 500 freestyle races. She breaks her own record set at last year's state meet in the 200 free with a time of 1:47.14. Fluitt's time in the 500 freestyle was 4:50.27. Maddie Gehrke of Waukee also earned two golds at the meet. She sets a record in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.51. The senior's third gold came in the 100 backstroke with a state record time of 54.83. Gehrke also was on the 200 Medley Relay team for the Warriors that took first place. Kelsey Drake of Linn Mar also won two golds at the state meet. WATCH NOW!

Segment 3: 100 Freestyle MyKenzie Leehy kept the 100 freestyle title in the family at the 2014 IGHSAU State Swimming Championships. The sophomore from Council Bluffs Lewis Central set a record with her time of 50.40. Leehy's sister Lauren won the 2013 crown. Jenn Jenks of Linn Mar edges Evan Hundley of Pleasant Valley for the silver by 4 hundredths of a second.... WATCH NOW!

Segment 4: 200 IM Medley / 100 Fly The 200 Individual medley features four swimming strokes. Kelsey Drake of Linn Mar edges out Sydney Angell of Pleasant Valley in the closest race of the 2014 IGHSAU State Swimming Championships with a time of 2:02.05. Angell touched the wall at 2:02.10. Samanth Hedric of Newton was 2nd with Crystal Florman of Mason City taking third. WATCH NOW!

Segment 5: 100 breast/200 med relay Sydney Angell of Pleasant Valley wins the 100 breaststroke and her second gold of the day at the  2014 IGHSAU State Swimming Championships. The senior swam the second leg of the 200 Freestyle Relay for the Spartans that also took home first. The 200 medley relay includes the butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle. Waukee swims to the title with Maddy Bridges, Zoe Bussanmas, Maddie Gehrke and Camryn Somers. Cedar Falls and Ames go 2nd and 3rd. WATCH NOW!

Segment 6: 200 free relay/400 free relay Relays are worth 40 points at the 2014 IGHSAU State Swimming Championships. These two races help teams win state titles. The 200 freestyle relay features some outstanding individual swimmers, but it is a team event here. Pleasant Valley wins the 200 freestyle relay with Ashton Ehrecke, Sydney Angell, Evan Hundley and Grace Stori. As the girls lined up for the last event of the day, the 400 Freestyle relay, the team title is still up for grabs. Ames needed a victory and some help to take their 5th straight team title. West Des Moines Valley's Lauren Conte started strong for the Tigers and the team never looked back. Moriah Moore describes the final 25 yards in this video. The rest of the relay team was Emily Wilson and Rachel Anfinson. Pleasant Valley wins the  2014 IGHSAU State Swimming Team Championship with 301 points. Ames is second with 293 points. Third place to Cedar Falls with 170 points, Valley 4th and Linn Mar was fifth with 156 points. WATCH NOW!
