NEED TO KNOW explores America's counter-terrorism efforts and the controversial practice of "preemptive prosecution" with Rick Nelson, of the bipartisan Center for Strategic and International Studies. He is the director of their Homeland Security and Counterterrorism Program and recently co-wrote a report that assessed the threat of homegrown extremism in the United States. Previously, he served at the National Counterterrorism Center.
