When a juvenile commits crime after crime, what happens to them? They’re not sent to jail, but to either The Iowa Juvenile Home in Toledo (for girls) or the Eldora State Training School for Boys.

The Iowa Journal looks inside Toledo’s facilities, and finds some surprising statistics that lead to effective treatments you might not expect for the ‘worst of the worst’ of Iowa’s troubled youth.

Interviewed in the segment are: Superintendent Deb Hanus, Principal Joan Gerbo, Teacher Jodi Havens, and a student.
