At the World Economic Forum 5 years ago, the general consensus was that the rampant economies of China and India would swamp the smaller emerging markets of South East Asia. Yet that prediction proved inaccurate, ASEAN has in fact been buoyed by the expansion of the two Asian giants and intra regional trade in ASEAN plus 2 has grown substantially.
