Dr. Sri Sritharan is the Associate Chair for Graduate Study & Research and Wilson Engineering Professor at Iowa State University. He explained to what extent Japan’s buildings, or nuclear reactors, were built to withstand large earthquakes, how this disaster will change how Japan rebuilds, what his research in New Zealand found and what could be applied to Japan’s rebuilding efforts.
