P. Allen Smith | 1-2-3 Done! - Party Garnish Plants | PBS

Duration: 01:11
Program: P. Allen Smith's Garden Home

A great way to dress up your party plates is to use fresh herbs from the garden as a garnish. One of the easiest garnishes is to use a leafy green such as lettuce, as a bed underneath olives and crackers. For something so simple, it makes a huge statement. With the varied textures and colors of the greens these day every platter can be it own creation. Everyone has seen a sprig of parsley on the side of a plate, but what about a bouquet of parsley in bud vases? It's so easy to do and adds a nice touch to any setting. And there's nothing like a nice glass of ice water especially on a hot summer day. Try adding a sprig of mint, not only is it beautiful, it also gives the water a refreshing mint flavor. My Friends at Bonnie Plants have a wide variety of herbs and vegetables so I am never at a loss to try something new.
