P. Allen Smith | Creating an Herb Ice Bowl | PBS

Here's a great idea to keep dips or salads nice and cool, make an herb ice bowl! It's really easy to make. Take 2 stainless steel bowls, one should fit inside the other with about 3/4 of an inch space between the two edges. Adding a little water to the larger bowl first, then placing the smaller bowl inside will help the small bowl float a little higher, which makes it easier to tape the sides together. Then, take some of your favorite herbs and stuff in between the bowls. Mosquito plant, lavender, mint, and lemon thyme are a few aromatic herbs that work really well. Next, pour water in between the bowls until it reaches the rim and place in the freezer overnight. When your ready to use your ice bowl, set it out for about ten minutes at room temperature, remove the tape from the sides and remove the ice bowl. This bowl is perfect for holding dips or salads at any function, give it a try!
