The Arts | Emile Norman: Creation of a Mural | PBS

Duration: 04:33

In 1966, the Bank of California (now Union Bank) commissioned Norman to create a large wood-inlay mural depicting the history of San Francisco. This archival footage, filmed by Norman's life partner Brooks Clement, shows the step-by-step creation of the work, with background music by J. S. Bach, a key inspiration for Norman throughout his life.
