Kristen Constant introduces herself and teaches students about her job as a materials science engineer. She explains why recycling light is important to reducing the use of energy for light. She introduces the concepts of reflection, refraction and absorption as ways to change light. Finally she demonstrates the filter her team has developed to reduce the energy used for producing light in a light bulb. This video is targeted at students in grades 3-5.
