The Iowa Journal looks at trends in criminal activity in Iowa, and current issues in the Juvenile Justice System. Guests will also discuss how treatment should differ between juveniles and adults, between boys and girls, and between Caucasians and African-Americans.

In the "News Analysis" segment, Kay Henderson, of Radio Iowa, discusses an increase in Iowa's vehicle licensing fees to help the Department of Transportation fix roads, a feasibility study for passenger rail expansion, and speculation about the likelihood of higher gas taxes being debated next session.

"Out and About Iowa" correspondent Dan Kaercher travels to Fairfield and explores the cultural scene in the community. The arts are and always have been an important part of the town.
