Caring for Just Add Ice Orchids is simple. Just water them with three ice cubes—the equivalent to one quarter cup water—once a week. Place the ice cubes on top of the planting medium—as they melt they will add just the right amount of moisture, cutting down the chances of overwatering. If you're unsure if your orchid is getting enough water, check the roots. They should be a bright green color. Orchids prefer bright, indirect light and daytime temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and 60 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit at night. Orchids also like it humid—between 55 and 75 percent humidity. To increase humidity place your orchid pot in a saucer filled with gravel and water. As the water evaporates it will add humidity to the air.
