In the News Analysis segment, Kay Henderson, of Radio Iowa, discusses the convictions of former CIETC employees including that of accountant Karen Tesdell on 29 fraud-related counts connected to the job-training payroll scandal. Also discussed were some of the "winners" in this year's legislative session, including more programs and financing of veterans programs.

Wind power, and its potential in Iowa's future are discussed on this episode of "The Iowa Journal."

Iowa's rural landscape has grown from being home to 300 wind turbines in 1999 to more than 1,100 turbines today capable of producing 1,273 megawatts of wind power.

With that growth has come jobs, creation of community college programs to train a workforce, and the possible future construction of an underground storage area to store power from wind and other sources that can be accessed on an as-needed basis.

Interviewed in the story are Bob Haug, Executive Director of the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities and Mark Schmidt, a curriculum coordinator and instruction at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville.

Studio guests are Tom Wind, Wind Utility Consulting, and Ed Woolsey, renewable energy entrepreneur who owns his own business, Green Prairie
Energy.
