Gambling, smoking and drinking alcohol are legal in Iowa. But, even so, there is a problem with addictive behavior tied to these activities and substances.

More people are addicted to nicotine and alcohol than to any other drugs of abuse in the United States. In addition, two million adults are estimated to meet the criteria for pathological gambling and another 4-6 million would be considered problem gamblers.

"The Iowa Journal" visits the University of Iowa to look at the school’s alcohol prevention efforts, and comments by Angela Reams, director of Student Services Relations, University of Iowa.
