The Iowa Journal looks at the future of Iowa. There are less than two years on the clock before we hit 2010. We'll check on progress of the Iowa 2010 plan commissioned in 2000.

Also we look at population shifts in the state and what those trends mean. Who is gaining and why will be two big questions we ask Jerry Kelley, mayor of Indianola and Iowa 2010 member and Dr. William Withers, Wartburg College professor who studies trends in a presentation called "The View From 10,000 Feet."

We'll also head to Red Oak for our Out and About segment.

During the news analysis, Kay Henderson of Radio Iowa talks about a proposed smoking bans on casino floors in Sioux City brought forth by the city council. Kay also talks with host Paul Yeager about Sen. Charles Grassley's athletic goals as a runner.
