Iowa Film Incentives

Last year (2007) Governor Chet Culver signed a law designed to promote and develop Iowa's film industry. The Iowa Film Promotion Act authorized tax incentives that help make Iowa a more attractive place to shoot a film.

By all accounts the incentives are bringing filmmakers to the state. The tax breaks rival, if not exceed anything offered in the U.S. By all accounts Iowa’s generous tax incentives for the film industry are working as intended -- attracting movie makers to the state. But what’s next? Is the state prepared for the business it's generating?
