Interview w/Iowa Boy Scouts: We Were Prepared
Duration: 06:11
Collection: Iowa Natural Disasters 2008
Two Iowa Boy Scouts, interviewed by NBC's Today Show, discuss what happed when a tornado came through their camp killing four people and injuring more than 50.
One of the scouts, only 13, explains how it would have been worse had the storm came through any other populated area rather than their camp - because, "we were prepared for this." The scout was referring to the extensive first aid training each scout is taught and all the supplies available which probably saved many lives that day.
The Boy Scout Motto is Be Prepared, and it appears that is exactly what these scouts were when disaster struck. The Boy Scouts of America is one of the few organizations which teach real life lessons and values. (via georgiahunter4333 on YouTube)
