Iowa Public Television commemorates the 10th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001 with a special program, Iowans Remember 9/11.

This one-hour program is hosted by world-renowned opera star and Iowa native Dr. Simon Estes, and features Iowa artists showcasing their gifts to honor those lost and with hope for renewal.

Highlights include an eclectic mix of musical offerings from the Des Moines Symphony players, The Nadas, Bob Dorr, singers from the Iowa State University Choir, and Dr. Estes himself.

Perspectives and reflections are also be provided by a variety of Iowans, including: Iowa’s Poet Laureate Mary Swander; poet, storyteller, and artist David Williamson; playwright Cynthia Mercati; and essayist Michael Gartner.
