Program: The Iowa Journal #169
Broadcast Date: Jul. 24, 2008
After years of dormancy are Iowa’s labor unions in resurgence? Will they be exerting more influence over the conduct of Iowa’s economy? Those are some of the questions The Iowa Journal will address in this edition.
Guests for the program are Ken Sagar, President of the Iowa Federation of Labor and Colin Gordon, Labor Historian at the University of Iowa.
Host Paul Yeager and David Pitt of the Associated Press discuss the Iowa Board of Regents action this week to investigate allegations the University of Iowa mishandled a case involving an alleged rape by two University of Iowa football players.
Pitt also talks about Governor Chet Culver's attempts to fast-track obtainment of federal emergency aid following an estimated billion dollars in flood damage to the state.
The broadcast will also visit Creston with Out and About correspondent Dan Kaercher.
