This year’s Fair got off to an unusual start. Fairgoers who arrived between 5:00 and 8:30 a.m. on the first day got in free. Then, about 11,000 of them then turned up at the Grandstand for the Corn Dog Chomp, when the 11,000 all simultaneously took a bite of a corn dog. Peter Hamlin shares the fun.
