None Less than Heroes: The Honor Flight Story
Broadcast Date: May. 27, 2012
In this documentary film, narrated by Academy Award nominee and veterans’ advocate Gary Sinise, Iowa’s World War II veterans tell their incredible stories of brutal combat as they prepare to make the highly anticipated trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the National World War II Memorial. On the trip, survivors also visit Arlington National Cemetery. Among many moving stories, the film follows one veteran who found the marker – previously unseen to him – of his own son who served in the Vietnam War.
In 2005, Earl Morse co-founded the not-for-profit Honor Flight Network, a national volunteer effort that ensured that tens of thousands of veterans would be flown free of charge to Washington, D.C. to visit their World War II Memorial. Most had never seen the memorial before.
