P. Allen Smith Hot & Spicy Oregano | PBS

Duration: 00:51
Program: P. Allen Smith's Garden Home

Oregano is an easy herb that should be in every garden. Traditional Greek oregano is perfect for flavoring pizza and tomato sauces. A new variety, Hot & Spicy, blends the traits of oregano with the heat of a mild chile pepper making it a great for Mexican dishes and chili. Native to the Mediterranean region, oregano likes low humidity, so keep the leaves and roots away from too much moisture. Mulch with pebbles to keep the leaves dry.
