Program: The Iowa Journal #208
Broadcast Date: Dec. 11, 2008
In this special edition of The Iowa Journal, Out and About Correspondent Dan Kaercher travels through Iowa's eastern river valleys, reporting what happened to individuals and communities during and after the floods of 2008.
He visited small towns and large, rural areas and farms, including: Charles City, rural Butler County, Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, The University of Iowa Arts Campus in Iowa City, and Columbus Junction.
What Kaercher found was people who rose to the challenge of one of the state's worst natural disasters with grace and kindness, and helped each other.
We decided to do these stories because we heard of one flood victim who said: "don' forget us." IPTV hasn't.
