Premiering October 23, 2012 8-9 pm ET (check local listings) October 27 -- the most dangerous day of the 13 day crisis -- goes down in history as "Black Saturday." As the day begins, a letter from Khrushchev arrives at the White House, and, buried between the lines are hints that he is looking for a way out. Sergei Khrushchev, son of the Soviet premier, says that the letter reflected his father's true feelings, and that he feared the consequences of a nuclear war because he had already been through the devastation of World War II.
