Will allowing same sex marriages lead to allowing multiple-partner marriages?

The Iowa Supreme Court heard lawyers discuss the constitutionality of a law that requires marriage to be only between two people of the opposite sex. The suit contends that this is unfair to same sex couples. The hearing took place Tuesday, December 9, 2008, in Des Moines.

"If this case decides that same sex couples can marry because it is 'a basic human right,' are we setting a precedent that means polygamists can marry?"
