Iowa Looks at the Economic Big Picture

Duration: 27:46 (Full Program)
Listen to Audio (MP3)
Transcript (RTF)

Dave Swenson of ISU and Ernie Goss of Creighton, two economists, talk about the current state of our economy. What's up, what's down and what sectors may fare better than others. If all this money has been pumped into our economy, how come it hasn't hit the floor yet? Will foreign investors still put money in the US? And also what haven't we seen yet?

Jeneane Beck of Iowa Public Radio talks about the 1.5% across the board budget cut to the state's budget. She also speculates about what legislative activity there will be this session including raising the dropout age requirement. Host Paul Yeager also asked about reaction to former Governor Tom Vilsack's nomination for US Agriculture secretary.
