Matt Jacobson, as profiled by Jennifer Matoney of South Dakota Public Broadcasting.
Matt
Jacobson, 20, is a swimmer from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He is a
student at Community Campus and works at Triple Play Sports Cards. Matt
will be swimming at The National Games, but also has competed in power
lifting and shot put. He has been training for the last eight months,
one-on-one three times a week for 45 minutes a day, in addition to
group practice with other Special Olympians. His goal at Ames is to
swim his hardest, record his best time, and to have fun. Matt says his
heroes are his brothers, Andy and Mike, who will be competing at the
games in Unified Softball. Matt’s dream is to work at a fitness center.
