Iwao Matsushita, a Japanese citizen who moved to Seattle in 1919, organized outings to nearby Mount Rainier National Park, where Matsushita not only took still photographs, but also created home movies and kept a small journal to record his adventures. Matsushita's experiences in the park are featured in Ken Burns's newest film, THE NATIONAL PARKS: AMERICAS BEST IDEA, premiering Sunday-Friday, September 27-October 2, 2009, at 8 pm ET/PT.
