Fair 2007: Horseshoe Pitching

Duration: 04:00
Play in External Player

Every day is horseshoe pitching day at the Iowa State Fair. And this year, the courts are brand new, and have a new location - just up the hill from Pioneer Hall, near the campgrounds. The courts are now sanctioned for international tournament play, and it's worth a sky ride up the hill to take a look.

As always, the Iowa Hawkeye Horseshoe Pitchers Association is in charge, and they have daily competitions for members and newcomers. They're also encouraging participation in their sport by offering prizes at a noon event called "Pitch and Win" where fairgoers only have to toss one or two horseshoes to win. Everyone's invited, all ages and abilities are welcome.
