Collection: Iowa's WWII Stories
Anthony Navarro was born in Durango, Mexico. He was a Sergeant 1880 aviation engineers. He worked on the Burma Road in the China-Burma-India theater. He says the irony of it all, is that at the time he went into the service he was not a citizen. He became a United States citizen while in the service. Nearly 1,000 G.I.s went to the court house to become citizens that day.
