World War II Veteran: Ivan W. Crees

Duration: 07:06
Transcript (RTF)

Ivan Crees was a farm boy from Atalissa, Iowa. He served in Africa and Italy in the military police. When men got lost, Ivan would try to escort them back to their own company. That was often challenging when they did not know where the company was. Through an interpreter, Ivan found out that one of his German prisoners was actually a relative. They were able to stay in touch after the war.
