Duration: 12:50

Transcript (RTF)

Sully tells us that patriotism was very high in the 40’s, and at 17, you don’t feel the war can be won without you. So, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He tells us about the importance of gaining a B-52 landing strip and stepping stones to Japan with Saipan, Tinian and the Marianas in June, 1944. Sully says a good Marine is mentally strong, follows orders and does what he is trained to do. He also tells us about Jack, Andy and Greg in his 4-man fire group.
