World War II Veteran: Dick Blunt

Dick Blunt served aboard the U.S.S. Sumner. He was part of the shakedown cruise to Bermuda. They went to Trinidad and picked up the battleship Virginia His main job was to operate the compass and keep it running. He tells us about being hit by a kamikaze. They limped back to San Francisco for repairs with mattresses stuffed in the holes of the ship.
