Eight Panthers Named to All-Western Wrestling Conference Teams

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The Western Wrestling Conference has announced its 2008-09 All-Conference teams. Individuals earned their spots on the respective teams with their finish at the 2009 NCAA West Regional on March 7 in Greeley, Colo.

The University of Wyoming and University of Northern Iowa led the way with four first-team honorees. The University of Northern Colorado secured the other two spots on the first team.

Wyoming led the way with nine all-conference honorees. UNI had eight wrestlers earn all-league honors. Northern Colorado saw six of its grapplers earn all-conference honors. Each school that competed at the 2009 West Regional had at least one individual on the all-conference squads.

The Western Wrestling Conference is comprised of seven schools including the Air Force Academy, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, Utah Valley and Wyoming. The conference formed in April 2006.
